Most supplement buying goes wrong at the vocabulary.
J.R. CARLSON LABORATORIES, INC. manufactures dietary supplements and tests every batch before release. Along the way we came to a conclusion that shapes this whole website: shoppers are rarely misled by a false statement. They are misled by a true one they had no way to interpret.
"Standardised", "cold pressed", "third-party tested", "potency at manufacture" all sound like reassurances. Each of them can be perfectly accurate and still leave you knowing nothing useful. So we publish a glossary of those words, with what each one actually commits the seller to and, as importantly, what it does not.

What we make
A narrow catalogue, tested to the same rules
The Bench Line range covers four groups. It is short because every added line is another set of raw materials, another supplier audit and another release panel, and a laboratory that stretches too far stops being able to stand behind any of it.

What the catalogue never includes: weight-loss products, sports performance lines, ingestible cosmetics, and anything whose supplier copy claims to treat a condition.
Why a glossary
Four words that do less work than they appear to
These are the four we are asked about most. Each has a full entry in the glossary; these are the short versions.
- Third-party tested. Says a laboratory somewhere tested something. It does not say which batch, for what, or whether yours passed.
- Potency at manufacture. True on the day it was made. Says nothing about the day it reaches you, which for oils is the day that counts.
- Standardised extract. Meaningful only with a named marker compound and a percentage. Without both, it is decoration.
- Proprietary blend. One total figure over several ingredients, so the expensive one can be a trace. We do not use them.
This cuts against us too
A buyer who understands these words will sometimes conclude that a competitor's product is the better buy. That is the intended outcome of publishing them. A shopper who can read a label is a shopper who stops needing to trust anybody's marketing, ours included.
Limits
What this company will not claim
Everything in the Bench Line range is a dietary supplement. Under United States law that means it is not a drug, and we do not write about it as though it were. We do not claim that anything we make:
- diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any disease or condition;
- substitutes for a prescribed medicine or for a clinician's judgement;
- works within a stated period, or to a stated degree;
- is clinically proven, where what exists is a single small trial;
- is safe taken alongside your prescriptions, which only your own clinician can weigh.

These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Raise it with a qualified healthcare professional before you start, in particular if you take prescription medication, are managing a condition, or are pregnant or nursing. Nothing here is intended for anyone below the age of 18.
If wording anywhere on this site reads to you as a health claim, write to contact@anthrodynelabs.com and name the page. We treat that as a defect and repair it.

A text when a batch is released
Oils in particular are worth buying fresh, and a batch release is the moment that matters. That is what this list is for. It is optional in every respect and skipping it changes nothing.
- Marketing messages only. Batch releases, new lines, occasional offers. Nothing else runs on it.
- Paperwork never arrives by text. Order confirmations, shipping documents and certificates all go to your email address.
- Up to 8 messages per quarter; frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- US mobile numbers, 18 or over. Neither a landline nor an overseas number can go on it.
- Text STOP in return and they cease. Text HELP and our details come back. The removal form does the same.
- The number stays with us. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Not a condition of any purchase. The Privacy policy and Terms cover the remainder.
